MA in History, College Teaching Option
The MA in History program prepares students for interesting careers. It has 3 options.
The College Teaching Option gives students the skills they need to teach history at the college level, as well as enhancing their knowledge of the scientific literature and familiarizing them with the relevant historical fields.
This option prepares history students to pursue their studies at the doctoral level if they wish. It is also offered for secondary school teachers wishing to expand their knowledge.
The option includes a thesis identical to the one in the Research Option, and comprises 18 master's-level course credits, 6 of them for practical college teaching, and 27 credits for research, 24 of them for the thesis. It is certainly a valuable asset for any teaching position applicant.
Enrolment in this option is limited to about 10 students per year.
